What is the dynamic light ring for?
The new dynamic Light Ring does more than just look good. It lights up in response to what is happening in the Tonie’s song or story, guide listeners through key moments like connecting to WiFi, adjusting volume with the Toniebox ears, powering down, and exploring the world of Tonieplay.

Can I turn off the light ring?
Yes, you can set the brightness to 0% in the app and that will turn it off. Please note: Tonieplay always requires the LED-ring to be turned on to guide you through your Tonieplay experience.

Yep! Many of our retailers have demo stations in store where you can have a play with the new Toniebox 2 in real life. If you can’t make it to one of the stores our website has loads of information. Here you can learn more about Tonieplay.

They will! All their favourite Tonies will still work on Toniebox 2 the same way they work on Toniebox 1.

All Tonies will work on Toniebox 1 and Toniebox 2, but Tonieplay Games will only work on Toniebox 2.

How long will the Toniebox 1 remain available for?
Toniebox 1 will remain available for the foreseeable future. We’ll update this page and our social channels as soon as we have more information.

Is there still support for the Toniebox 1?
There is! You can get in touch any time with questions about your Toniebox, whether it’s Toniebox 1 or 2. You can also find loads of helpful support articles in our help center. Your Toniebox 1 will still work just fine.

What is the Toniebox 2 made of?
The Toniebox 2 is wrapped in a soft and super durable fabric made from a mix of PVC and cotton – just like materials used in the medical field. It’s been thoroughly tested, made from vegan raw materials, and certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, meaning it’s free from harmful substances. The ears are made from flexible silicone, perfect for little hands. The colored platform is crafted from sturdy polycarbonate, while the frame underneath is made from ABS (a strong, kid-friendly plastic).

Will the Toniebox 2 fit into my existing carrying case or bag?
Your Toniebox 2 fits perfectly in the tonies® Carrying Case and in the tonies® Listen & Play Bag. Just a heads-up thought – you won’t be able to charge it while it’s in some carriers/bags because of the updated charging connection.

Why is the charging cable so short?
To keep the Toniebox safe and sound for our youngest listeners we’ve shortened the charging cable. We offer a USB-C Charger that comes with a long cable + wall plug that has been specifically designed for Toniebox 2.

Why don't we include a plug with the Toniebox 2?
We include a USB-C cable so you can use it with the plugs you already have. It’s better for the planet—and means fewer unused plugs piling up at home.

What plug do I need to use to charge the Toniebox 2?
Only use the included cable or certified tonies® accessories to charge your Toniebox 2. Using other chargers can cause damage or safety risks. For best results, use a power supply between 5–15 watts (5V, max 1.5A). If you have any additional questions please visit the Help Center where there are loads of helpful support articles or you can submit a new request.

Can I add the Toniebox 2 to my existing household or is a new / second one required?
You can add your Toniebox 2 to your existing tonies® account and household. Just follow the steps in the app.

Do I have to consider / adjust anything in the tonies App when adding a Toniebox 2?
Nope. Just add the new Toniebox to your account and you’ll be able to see all the new functions and features available with Toniebox 2 on that Toniebox’s page.

What operating system do I need in order to use the tonies app?
To use the tonies® app, you’ll need Android 7.0 or higher, or iOS 15.6 and above on your iPhone.

Does the Toniebox 2 have bluetooth compatibility?
Yes! Bluetooth helps connect the Toniebox 2 to your smartphone during setup, making things faster and easier so you they can start playing sooner.

Do I need to charge the Toniebox 2 when I first unpack it?
The Toniebox 2 arrives partially pre-charged so they can get started right away.

How do I charge the Toniebox 2 and how long does it take?
Toniebox 2 uses a USB-C charger for charging.To keep everyone safe and sound, please only use certified USB chargers, as the Toniebox cannot detect faults in the power supply. This applies to both USB-A and USB-C wall chargers. For a full charge, pop it on the charger for at least 3 hours and you’ll be ready for hours of listening fun.Need a quick boost? Just 10 minutes of charging gives your Toniebox 2 up to 45 minutes of playtime – perfect for one more story before heading out.

What features of the Toniebox 2 can I customize via the app?
You can personalise their Toniebox 2 listening experience with the app. Along with still being able to set the max volume and change the direction of the fast-forward/rewind tap there are loads of great new features!

New features include:
Set a Sunrise Alarm with custom time, volume and tone
Create a bedtime routine with the Sleep Light with Timer and wind-down settings
Adjust the brightness of the dynamic Light Ring

Does the Toniebox 2 and app function differently for 1+ products vs. 3+ products?
For safety reasons, some of the Toniebox 2’s features are limited in 1+ mode.The tonies® app also shows different settings for 1+ and 3+ modes.
